  Some of the best addon tools out there! More than worth it. Question, is there a way to adjust BoxCutter keybindings? I can't seem to find it in the same place I do other keybind options for things like HardOps. I couldn't get a grid to appear with G while holding CTRL to get the snap points to appear. I know there is a dynamic grid option that displays from the mouse cursor, but I just wanted to make sure I wasn't missing something. At first CRTL G was mapped to a MACHIN3tools Group option, but I was able to change that keybind, however now CTRL G does nothing.

  Due to grid being added to a modifier key. That answer is no. In Blender there are limitations to what we can make mappable. Having modifier key things go on general keys is strangely one of them. This might have been a support issue better than a review, so it could be discussed better. But I will send your request up just to see if "time are a changing". But we might have to ponder how that can be approached outside of the norm.

  I am grateful for your review of course. I just don't want to reply no and not be able to explore solutions in the multiverse.

  I'm new to hard surface modeling, I usually do organic work. Initially I was hesitant about buying. I'm really glad I did. Its so good. It kind of feels essential. Makes me wish blender came with it as standard.

  While the add-on itself is powerful, the documentation is not written/formatted in a user friendly way. Otherwise I would give it a higher rating. I will elaborate:

  The issue is that some people like myself would opt for reading a short paragraph about how something functions in its entirety, rather than watching a video. The benefit to the short paragraph is that ideally it should tell you exactly what you need to know. However, with hardops/boxcutter docs, you get a short sentence that doesn't really help someone trying to get a quick answer, and then it's followed by a video that may or may not be up to date. For example, if I want to know how to create a difference boolean, the docs should look something like this (I made up the shortcuts):
  Difference Boolean
  Object Mode -> LMB+drag > X to accept boolean.

  In the example above I explained exactly how you get from native blender to the functionality of the add-on. The current documentation splits up this information into almost an entire page with graphics. While having the extra visuals is nice, you fail to provide a clear and concise way to execute the task, and your docs are now reminiscent of a recipe website with advertisements requiring you to endlessly scroll through until you get to the recipe.

  The documentation ideally should also be up-to-date with the latest Blender release.

  Thank you for your valid and up to date critique of your experience. In our eternal struggle to please everyone, there are always those who are left behind in an individual catering. I apologize for the concise and direct pathing to your answers. I hope that curve is facilitated as time goes on.

  I don’t want to inundate you with an extensive response but there was a time when it was requested to video showcase things rather than attempt to talk due to language differences. I fear that in my aims to please you, I would displease a visual learner who requested it to be less wordy on dialog. I know this doesn’t matter but these struggles do keep me up at night. All I can do is apologize for your experience and resolve to improve it.

  Love it so much! It makes project so much easier especially if you use it for 3D printing cool sci-fi things and action figures. I can finally cut all the parts I've been needing to make for months down to the finest detail. 100/10! Best 38$ I ever spent!

  I am glad to have this add-on. HardOps and BoxCutter are both exceptional tools that take Blender to new level. However, I have noticed that the insert tool with BoxCutter tends to freeze when the shape becomes more complicated, making it impossible to use. To overcome this issue, I use HardOps' insert boolean operation to create panels. I hope this issue will be addressed in future updates. Rest, just get this addon and it will make your life much easier :))

  Addon either crashes upon activating or causes my system to get laggy/clunky.
  Quite disappointed - would get a refund if I could.

  Once up to date, you will be good to go. Unfortunately older versions of the addon can't work with an ever changing blender so updates are required. I hope that helps and reduces confusion. Blender changes over time and this requires updating.

  It's good tools.
  Official tutorials too focused on tools features and lacks on flow and reasoning. Like, "Cool, you can cut a box, but why?"
  So if you're new to hard surface modeling, I would recommend Ponte Ryuurui and Josh Gambrell youtube channels. Besides marketing bs(Josh, please, stop, you overdo it) they have both full length tuts on workflow/pipeline and small useful videos.

  This turns Blender into an entirely different tool, but it still has those Blender controls we know and love, so you don't have to *actually* learn a new program from scratch.
  Once you get these, you won't want to go back.
