How to transition from botaniq, traffiq, materialiq or aquatiq addons?
Download `engon` and the asset pack associated .paq files (no longer .zips) and install the .paq files inside preferences. This is highly customizable - you can install the asset packs into one folder using the ‘Install Asset Pack’ operator or you can use the ‘Pack Search Paths’ and define where engon should look for the installed asset packs. These settings can be imported and exported to transport to other machines (e. g. when using network drives).
Preferences are lost, engon seems not to work
Most likely there are conflicting installations in your Blender (multiple engons, old megaddon, etc)
Where do I spawn assets?
You can open engon browser in any dockable blender area or in a completely separate window that’s persistent. Use one of the buttons at top of the panel.
My assets are missing from the scene after the transition to engon.
To fix most of the issues you can use the migrator feature https://docs.polygoniq.com/engon/1.3.0/panels/engon/blend_maintenance/#migrate-assets. If your project file is older from the times of botaniq-5.0 or botaniq-4.0, we don’t have exact history of the asset changes, so we can’t guarantee the migrator working correctly. If you need to use you started the project with old addons (2020) we suggest completing the project with the old addon and migrating to engon and the newest asset pack versions for the next project.
How to setup engon as an extension?
Visit https://github.com/polygoniq/extensions/?tab=readme-ov-file#---- https://extensions.polygoniq.com/ and get engon with its updates within Blender. Another option that applies to all Blender versions is to download the .zip file and install it through Blender. Updates will be available in the preferences “Updates” section. refer to https://docs.polygoniq.com/engon/1.3.0/getting_started/installation/index.html#addon-installation-conflicts
