  Primarily being a game developer in Unreal Engine, this plugin seemed very attractive to me at first to be able to use some of the built in presets, and start making a few of my own later on...However, I cannot get this plugin to work for my personal use. The tool seems powerful specific to blender and actual hair creation, and I've gotten the conversion to hair cards down... But, this plugin is unusable to me personally due to the texture output when you apply the hair card convert. If you combine textures into one, the width of all the textures are never equivalent to the height to make it an even square texture, or even a power of two. In other words I need 4096 x 4096 or 2048 x 2048, but on a dozen or so attempts trying many different variables and tweaking, you always get something like 3871 x 4096 or 1895 x 2048 or 4742 x 4096 etc...

  I did reach out to the creator as well and did not get a response, so at the moment this plugin gets 1 star and I cannot recommend it for anyone working in a game engine. I would be more than happy to adjust my review if this issue gets resolved.

  Very amazing add-on, for grooming with many feature, like a generate hair card, grouping hair by color, and etc. but if I have technical question, I can ask in Email or Discord group?

  Very good addon.
  I had to figure out some of the basic steps since I am still new to Blender, but that aside everything works as advertised.
  The only thing that I couldn't figure out is if it's possible to use the provided presets as a starting point and manually groom them with the brushes.

  Worth every penny, the person who gave negative reviews about this add-on must have been too lazy to watch 20 minutes of YouTube tutorials!

  Absolutely amazing addon. I have been playing around with it for a bit, no complaints so far. I've read some of the negative reviews and it seems most of them have no idea what they are talking about. For a groom artist like myself who frequently works on production ready hair, this is an incredible toolset. The curve-to-hair option alone is an insanely powerful feature which will save me a lot of time. Seriously.

  3D Hair Brush has a high learning curve for a first user, but the more you play with it the better your results. I had a strange scaling issue with my hair and the developer was most helpful in showing how to resolve my issue. Once I understood the workflow process I find this tool very quick to use. Thank you!

  I would not recommend it, I bought it because of its transformation into cards, but the result is totally random and far from the original hair, the tools they offer to edit are uncomfortable, and inefficient, it does not look anything like what appears in the promotional videos , I tried to communicate with a response without positive result, and at the time of writing this, the documentation only has a broken link. I'm going to ask for a refund, I hope I can get my money back.

  I first purchased this back in June 2022. Initially, this tool seemed very intimidating and a somewhat unhelpful addition to Blender's native particle hair system at this time. But...since then, this tool had some major updates, including repackage features that you would have to purchase separately in the past, that is now an all-in-one tool. Not only does this Hair tool increase hair creations speeds for both particle and curve hair systems, now the tool helps with game and/or hair-cards creations for use with software outside of Blender. Plus, the VFX Grace Youtube library provides additional information to help better understand the features of this tool, and more. Lastly, although this tool is a bit pricey, I believe it's definitely worth the price it is now than 250 USD value it was previously separated into for all the needed features.
