  I dont know how to rig in blender without the addon, so i suppose it helps :-) Joke aside, even without using the main rig, there are so many important features, it is a must have (for me)

  Must have. It also provide simple export to game engines (Unity and Unreal), which works flawlessly without much tinkering to the settings.

  I'm a blender beginner and I am not exaggerating when I say I can rig a secondary/background character in like 5 minutes with this add-on. It would take me hours from scratch. Actually, I'm not even sure I could set up this type of rig at all manually.

  Of course the important characters will take a bit longer to set up, because you usually have to fix things like the armpits bulging out, and usually the head/face, eyelashes etc, tends to require some fine-tuning. But still, it is a big time saver.

  The animation re-targeting tools are also a big help.

  Some small things are bit vague or missing in the documentation, at least from a beginners perspective. E.g. the placement of the breast bones and things like that. But it's nothing super-important. I can recommend CGDives tutorials as a complement to the docs.

  The best rigging in Blender! It just makes sense. The more I get into it, I find more and more ultra usefull options. I can't beleive there are negative reviews for this. Nothing is going to be magical peope. You still have to do manual work. You still have to have a basic understanding of rigging in Blender. This add on just saves countless hours of work.

  Thanks for the kind words Seth! I believe you are correct, some newcomers may idealize the addon, thinking the rig will ready in two clicks, but it's obviously not what it's about.

  Awesome add on - rigging, skinning and animating are very challenging by default and this add on makes it more intuitive, Artell has been super responsive and helped me so many times- what an amazing asset to the blender community, thank you so much!
