Aircraft Engine V-Type
What kind of files can you encounter on the Aircraft Engine V-Type and how to deal with them?
.blend
This file type is the standard Blender project file and should run with your Blender open source software. Bear in mind that this project was created using Blender version 3.5.
.fbx
This file type is an incredibly light format and can be "imported" to several types of 3D softwares. You may need to attach any materials of your choice in case they won't show up. This can be great if you need to import "blank slates" for you to texture.
.obj | .mtl
This is a standard 3D file type extension that can be "imported" using your 3D software. It should import any materials attached to the original file, but it also takes slightly longer to load than, for instance, a .fbx file type.
.glb
This is a standard 3D file type extension that can be "imported" using your 3D software. The biggest advantage of importing your models with this file type is that they should in 99% of the cases come with all materials attached, which makes for a great choice of fily type to use when importing 3D models made by others.
.stl
STL is a file format commonly used for 3D printing and computer-aided design (CAD). The name STL is an acronym that stands for stereolithography — a popular 3D printing technology. If you're planning on 3D printing any of the models, this would be the ideal file type to use.
.rar
A RAR file is an archive that contains one or more files compressed with RAR compression. It is compressed with a higher compression ratio than typical ZIP compression and incorporates a proprietary compression algorithm utilized by other compressors. You can using either Winrar, or download a free software such as 7zip to extract files from this file type.
