SnapFit Documentation
Overview
SnapFit is a Blender add-on designed to enhance object manipulation and alignment. This documentation covers installation, features, and usage.
Installation
- Download the snapfit.py file.
- Open Blender and go to Edit > Preferences > Add-ons.
- Click "Install" and select the snapfit.py file.
- Enable the add-on by checking the box next to "Object: SnapFit".
Features
Snapping
- Snap to Face
- Snap to Edge
- Snap to Vertex
- Snap to Selected Vertices
- Snap to Selected Edges
- Snap to Selected Faces
- Snap to 3D Cursor
Alignment
- Align to Grid
- Align to X-axis
- Align to Y-axis
- Align to Z-axis
Distribution
- Distribute along X-axis
- Distribute along Y-axis
- Distribute along Z-axis
Scaling
- Match Scale
Usage
- Select the object(s) you want to manipulate.
- In the 3D Viewport, find the SnapFit panel in the sidebar (press N if not visible).
- Choose the desired operation from the available options.
Snapping
Select the target object last (it will be the active object). Then choose the appropriate snapping option.
Alignment
Select objects and choose the alignment axis.
Distribution
Select at least three objects and choose the distribution axis.
Scaling
Select objects, with the target scale object as the active (last selected) object.
Troubleshooting
- Ensure you have at least two objects selected for most operations.
- For snapping to selected elements, make sure you're in Edit mode on the target object with the desired elements selected.
