Is this shader compatible with newer Octane releases?

Yes! This shader is compatible with all Octane Render releases from Blender 2.8.3 until Blender 2.9.3.

Why are there some missing inputs in version 1.0.8 for Blender 2.92?

In releases of Octane older than 23.8 (based on Blender 2.92) there are some bugs about color inputs in groups so it was necessary to add some redundant inputs then removed as soon as this bug was fixed.
The nodes affected by this change are Diffuse Color and Specular Color.

Why does version 2.0 LE show connections in red and not work?

This is a temporary issue due to a bug in the current version of Octane for Blender (28.4). The problem has been reported to OTOY and is being resolved. It will be fixed in the next Octane build.
