How to select model Components like Steel and Damaged Parts
Blender: Select the 3D model, go to edit mode, in the material slot panel select the material that represents the part you want to select then click select, then you can assign new material or separate/delete it, or you can select them using the "L" Key.
OBJs: Depending on what software you use, you can separate unconnected parts (not recommended because it may result in floating and loose vertices), or you can separate by material (recommended)
