Procedural Fish Animator

by Paulo in Modifier Setups

Animating fish can be time-consuming, and sometimes you just want to add some background detail to your scene that wouldn't be worth the time. I created this Geometry Nodes setup to make your life easier and now you can even create schools that can follow the path you define using curves.

You can control the swim speed, rotation and displacement scales, all reduced to a minimal amount of parameters to configure.

There is even a parameter to synchronize the animation with the current frame, so you can simply animate the fish's movement and this setup will make it swim around the path.

It is included in the download some low poly models to serve as examples, I've tried to match their parameters following the fish characteristcs. To see they swimming, just play the viewport animation ('Space' key by default).

Animate the fish movement and later sync its swimming animation

Just a few parameters
