Power Sculpt | Blender Add-On
POWER SCULPT is a Blender Add-on intended for HighPoly Sculpting Workflows, using Remesh.
It gives you More Control over Blender's most Powerful Features.
Why use Remesh for HighPoly Sculpting?
First of all, Remesh is powerful, it makes full use of your CPU, and with the added control from Precision Remesh, you can work with it more intuitively. Instead of guessing voxel size, you can enter the Polycount you wanna achieve and keep Remeshing as you sculpt. This is a solid workflow for creating game ready assets.
INFO: Blender 4.3 has made sculpting much more faster. With 16GB RAM, you can decimate a mesh with 16M Triangles. 32GB -> 32M, 64GB -> 64M and so on.
Working with Masks
Blender's Decimate Modifier(Collapse Method) is FAST. You can influecne the Polygon Density using Vertex Weight. The Fastest way to generate them is to use Blender's own Auto-Masking. POWER SCULPT's Mask Transfer bridges the gap here. You can convert the Sculpt Masks to Vertex Weights using this tool. This method allows for faster iterations.
PRO Tip: In Auto-Masking, we can use the "Custom Curve" with the Cavity Mask to easily generate a good Curvature Intensity Mask (Learn More on the Video Below↓)
More about Precision Decimate
With Precision Decimate, you can easily achieve the target Polycount and NOT deal with finding the correct Ratio. It adds a Decimate Modifier with visibility turned off, so that you don't have to wait unnecessarily. You can tweak it further if needed and apply it directly instead of spending twice the time(first to view, then to apply).
We can create good LowPoly Meshes by Decimating in Steps.
HighPoly -> MidPoly -> LowPoly
Decimate with Weights to create a MidPoly with localized details and to get a better LowPoly you can simply Decimate this MidPoly(without weights)
Power Sculpt Workflow for Production
Precision Remesh - Create HighPoly Models with Blender's powerful voxel remesh, control the Polycount using Precision Remesh
Mask Transfer - Transfer Mask data between Scult Mode and Vertex Groups, utilize Blender's fast Auto-Masking to it's fullest
Precision Decimate - Guide the Decimation Process using generated Mask data, control the Polycount and Density of Decimation
Limitation: Precision Remesh will only work accurately on single meshes, when you're are remeshing 2 or more meshes together, just remesh it first to join them, and then remesh again to get the right Polycount
The add-on works on Blender 4.0+, upto the latest versions
