a Node Pack is a collection of node groups. the point of a node pack is to help you organize your node groups based on utility, type, use or any criteria of your choice.
How do I save a Node Group ?
select your node group, save your blender file, select a node pack or create one in the NodeShelf UI, then save the node group to it.
