3D Nebula Generator Eevee/Cycles
Blender Nebular Generator
This simple tool allows you to create customisable 3D volumetric nebulas that work in both Eevee and Cycles. This is a great easy to use tool for scifi backgrounds in animation or to showcase 3D models.
The nebulas are created using the shader editor and have custom attribute nodes that allow you to control things like density, colour and contrast.
- Custom Colour Control
- Other customisable elements.
- Fully Procedural
This tool also generates stars using Blender's particle system to help light the nebula. Stars can be changed colour/brightness and the amount/spacing of them can also be easily accessed in the particle system settings.
Eevee Functionality
The shader works well in Eevee, it renders much faster than cycles. (Below is a shot rendered in Eevee)
Cycles Functionality
- Cycles allowed to use the shader on different shapes meshes, making it appear as if they contain the nebula. Cycles rendering of the shader is render intensive so this is best used for still shots in cycles.
PC Requirements
You will need a decent CPU/GPU to render the shader in both Eevee and cycles. The still shots featured at the top were rendered in Eevee using an RTX 4070 GPU/I7 CPU and took roughly 30 sec each. Although faster can be achieved through lowering volumetric samples.
