Low-Poly Procedural Snowflakes For Cycles
Introducing our studio-use asset for procedurally generated snowflakes! From adding snow to motion-tracked footage and objects to creating full snow-covered scenes, this asset is our go-to for winter scenes!
Falling Snow
This asset is great for falling snow! Use it as your rendered geometry for simulations of 10,000 flakes, 50,000, or whatever your machine can withstand! It works great as a single particle, or as a clump of child particles, as every child is also different (the size of the particles can dictate part of the procedural generation of the shader, so make sure your child particles have a little bit of random size as well)
Surface & Ground
While you might not want to use it as your entire surface, you can use this as a hair particle with children to cover the ground or surfaces with beautiful, glistening, unique snowflakes! Or if you want to add snow to the top of objects in your entire scene without using weight maps, you can disperse thousands for a single frame before your sequence starts, and make sure they're set to die on impact AND that they're going to stick around when they die!
Check out the images to see some examples of how we've used it in our own work, and to see some clean examples of it in different scenarios!
