The Location Selector (short: L-Select) is a Blender Add-on that allows you to select other objects in a Volume around a Center.

Functions:

Selection:

We are selecting a central object. The add-on uses the origin of the object currently.

You can choose a type of selection, either a cuboid or a sphere and the object's size.

The size options currently work with the location coordinates of the vector space and not with units.

Unit System Metric and Unit Scale 1.0 means it equals the selection values.

You can show the selection space with View 3D.

Save Collection Creation:

Selected Objects can be saved in a collection.

The objects in this collection are linked to duplicates in Scene Outliner (Scene Collection).

You can delete these collections every time.

The add-on will create a top collection for these sub-collections with the selected objects to keep it organised.

Updates:

09/05/2022 Release Version 1.0.1: Selection works now independent if the object location is set through Transform, Delta Transform or changed by a Parent. Example: If the child object is in the range of the selector and the parent is not, the child object will be selected, but the add-on will not select the parent.
