  The tools are great and easy to use, however for me this addon routinely crashes Blender during rendering. tested with even just a scene containing ONLY a single instance of the 3D text and still crashed during rendering.

  it is still possible to painstaking render out the sequence in little drips by rendering to image and starting from the last frame before the crash each time but this is a bit of a pain on longer sequences

  Hi Foothold, sorry for the inconvenience.
  This is an old Blender bug that occurs in some systems. There are two workarounds:
  - Lock UI for render
  - Bake your text (addon feature), disable text effects add-on, then render

  This will prevent any crash during render.
  Please get in touche if you still stuc. 👋

  i hadn't used this for a few months. but the baking is broken. the text just disappears now. may need an update

  The fact that this add-on ruins your preset text alignment/layout with no option to center/middle align makes it unusable for me.

  Currently the best add-on for quickly and easily adding typography.
  My old workflow was to manually lay-out the text, convert to mesh, and animate with something like ANIMAX.
  With Text Effects I can achieve the same animations, but in just a few clicks and moves.

  Absolute life-saver for more complicated text animations.
  Seriously. The time it takes to use this add on instead of without must be 3% of the time. I can actually animate text well and still preserve my youth.

  I use this addon to insert 3D text into my VR360 3D videos. The animations look cool in 3D and make it a bit more interesting and immersive for viewers using VR headsets. A lot quicker and easier than key framing each character by hand so thanks for this awesome product. The only negative is with the latest version the wiggle preset is a bit more frantic for some reason and I can’t slow it down to the the same speed as my older version which was able to wiggle at a more gentle floaty pace which looks better in a VR headset. I’m sure I’ll work something out.

  Before I begin my review, you need to understand why this add-on is really great for me, let me explain a little. Back in Jan 2019 I had a major stroke. I lost all my freelance clients and can no longer work. I have neuropathy in my hands so I look for add-ons that will drastically cut back on my hand/mouse use. I currently can only use a drawing tablet to replace my mouse. So, now I only do Blender as a hobby. Anyways (to shorten the story).

  TextFX (TFX) is a handy addon for motion graphics. This was easy to use in a matter of minutes. Many options help to create various effects easily. Because of the neuropathy in my hands there is no way I could do these effect by hand. 1) It would cause me too much pain; 2) It would take way to long. That is why I love this add-on.

  TFX is great for the specialized thing that it does. if you are a motion graphics artists and/or like to create gif's or use it in a video, TextFX is perfect... Saves lots of time. I highly recommend TFX!!
