Sci-Fi Hud_Groups
What are HUD-groups?
The Sci-Fi HUD Groups are a set of node-groups that give you the ability to easily create 3D heads-up display elements for your projects. Each group comes with customizable parameters to fine tune the look for your specific project. There are shape groups that generate different shapes/arrays, and timing groups that can be used to animate any attribute from the shape groups.
Each shape group has a 'transform' section that has height and rotation attributes. Multiple height attributes from different shapes can be connected to the same animation to make them move together. Furthermore, each group contains a second "height offset" input so it can be offset independently from its group.
All the node groups are pre-packaged into the asset browser. The nodes can simply be drag & dropped into the node tree.
The node-groups also come with attributes that can be read in the shader tree such as procedural UV's, spline parameter factor from 0-1 for current spline length and also a separate one for the relative global spline parameter factor.
Usage:
Simply use the "join geometry" node to join elements together. You can use the "join geometry" nodes to separate different parts of the node tree to increase readability. After the "join geometry" you can add a set position node and use the TIME nodes to animate the elements together instead of the using the built in "Height" attributes. You can also add a set material node there if you want all those elements to have the same material (otherwise use the nodes' built in material slot).
Presets:
The blend file comes with a few presets that I've put together using the node-groups. You can use these as a starting point or just to learn how I put together elements using these groups.
