House Generator
Isn't building cityscapes tedious?
Lately, I've been working solo on creating an open-world RPG in Unity, and the biggest challenge I face is building cityscapes.
It turns out there are way more buildings than I expected.
If I want to create a city of decent size, I need around 50, or ideally 100 buildings.
For example, using Archimesh to create each building one by one, it takes about an hour just to make a single house.
Sure, I could copy the same house, but that would feel a bit dull, right?
On top of that, I’m not particularly good with Blender.
I can barely remember how to make a simple cube.
There are people who have thought the same thing, and tools like Buildify are impressive.
You can create cityscapes from Blosm!
But when I tried it, the polygon count was massive, and when I imported it into Unity, it barely ran.
I didn't know how to reduce the polygon count.
I was stuck...
Then one day, it hit me:
"Wait, Blender can run scripts!"
I'm a programmer. I happen to know a little Python.
So I thought, why not create a script that automatically generates simple houses?
And with that, I made:
"The one-click 'select an object and boom, a house appears' script"!
Select a object.
Click "Create Building" button.
Simple Building was appeared!!
Isn't it amazing?!
