Fully Animated Metal 3D Printer

by Conceptualized.tech in Models

Open 3D metal printer blender file.

Import your model into the scene.

Move your model so that it appears to sit on the build plate (easiest way is to move the origin of your model to the bottom, select the model designation empty, snap cursor to empty, select your model and then snap selection to cursor, See video demo)

Give your model the basic metal material or create your own. Parent your object to the build plate. Add an intersecting Boolean modifier (It should be noted that manifold objects work best for no jumping etc.)and use the intersecting Boolean object. It should be noted that manifold objects work best to avoid any buggy or glitching. You may need to try both exact and fast options of the intersecting boolean modifier to get the best result.

The 3D metal printer is animated and if needed for longer or shorter animation, simple delete keyframes of nozzle or x location object or duplicate the keyframes to create longer animations. The keyframes can also be scaled on the timeline to make the animation appear faster (faster nozzle movement look the best in our opinion!)

Add your model to the monitor animation blend file and create your own monitor animation, render it separately and replace the image sequence in the 3D metal printer blend file to have the monitor showing it is printing your model.
