SHADING THE LANDSCAPE:
https://youtu.be/nbUESen0SC0Use Erosion on your own mesh, or generate a new one from scratch using the "new landscape" option.
This is the only addon with erosion simulation that works on any mesh! Even Suzanne can be eroded.
The mesh modification can be applied once or while you are modeling your landscape in iterations, with rising detail. Vegetation can quickly be applied, by automatically creating a particle system automatically, to distribute trees and plants conveniently.
Apply it to the whole mesh or just a selection of vertices.
Therefor modifiers are already added for that purpose, when calculating 3D Erosion, and a flow nodegroup when the 2D Erosion is calculated.

Rivers & Lake Meshes:
You can generates Rivers and Lakes flowing down the suface based on the vertices. VertexGroups are generated for water and age of the flow.
2D Erosion :
The Flow Map nodegroup can be combined with a vertex color for more contrast into the flow shading.
using the vertex colors in combination with the flow map allows for versatile and quick shading:
ceilings of caves and tunnels are calculated just like real ceilings, leading to small spikes and flows simulated with a global downward gravity.
