Energy Shield | Blender Eevee
Why does Blender lag a bit when I zoom in on this Energy Shield?
This is normal because this is a procedural shader, it's not limited by pixel resolution like texture maps. So when you zoom in, the quantity of details increases, which adds to the processing load on your computer hardware.
Can this Energy Shield be exported to game engines or other 3D software outside of Blender?
Currently, my Energy Shield can only be used within Blender. Exporting to other software is not supported at this time due to differences in core systems between software.
Can it be rendered with Cycles?
It can still be rendered with Cycles, but that's nothing special since there are currently very few energy shields with similar effects in EEVEE.
If I enable both front face and back face at the same time, some parts of the shield disappear or glitch. How can I fix that?
If you're using Blender 3.6, this issue occurs due to the 'Alpha Blend' mode. To fix it, simply switch to 'Alpha Hashed.' This will slow down the render, but it will resolve the issue.
