Easyburn Auroras Effect
Description:
EasyBurn Auroras are a Dynamic Shader & Geometry Nodes system that create beautiful Auroras that are much less resource-intensive than using Volumetrics, and far more Dynamic than using simple textures.
Just Append and go!
You can easily edit the Aurora with a curve to define its shape.
Change Modifier Properties to alter the Auroras bends and movement.
Edit Aroura Colors: Bottom, Transition, and Top.
Fully Render in either Cycles OR Eevee!
The Geometry Nodes that power EasyBurn Auroras allows you to automatically animate the Aroura in your scene!
The Shader Graph is all organized and labeled for the easiest control over the basics.
Why did I make this?
At some point I was thinking about making an arctic scene or at the very least a snowy lake scene.
And then I thought about adding some 'Northern Lights' to the scene when I got to doing texturing, but I really didn't know how I was gonna make them at the time. Through some research I found that the most impressive display of northern lights was with large Volumetrics with some pretty advanced settings.
And personally, I wanted to be able to render this scene fast, and my system just can't do volumetrics very well. I also wanted to be able to make lots and lots of changes until I got the effect to look just right.
With that, I decided I'd use my knowledge of Geo Nodes and Shader Graphs to create something a little more 'Plug-And-Play', Then I could use it in other scenes with ease. Just append it.
About two days later I had the prototype done, and here we have a more finalized effect. It's effective to say the least. I like to use it in so many projects now when I do night scenes, especially when I have reflective surfaces.
Final Thoughts From Me, The Creator:
Hey everyone, I hope you all like the EasyBurn Auroras. I worked hard on them, and ill ensure they stay working. If anyone has any thoughts, comments, or concerns, feel free to let me know.
I hope to make more procedural effects that can work in both Eevee and Cycles.
Nothing is better than when it just works.
