Dynamic Rain And Texture Drying
Dynamic Rain and Texture Drying
A Blender scene for realistic rain and dynamic texture drying
This is a pre-configured Blender scene which works with Blender 3.1 and above. It uses dynamic paint and a particle system in combination with a modified shader system to produce a realistic rain simulation. The texture of the ground plane can be changed to any PBR material of your choice (from Polyhaven for example) to achieve the effect you require.
The simulation starts by rain falling onto the ground plane. When the rain hits the ground plane, it leaves wet patches in the same way realistic rain would. Once the particle simulation finishes, the wet patches on the ground plane begin to dry. These parameters are fully customizable.
It requires an intermediate knowledge of Blender to change the scene including changing particle systems, dynamic paint objects and shaders.
