Dermis Mini: A Simplified, Fast-Turnaround Multi-Level Sss Principled Shader For Cycles
Dermis Mini is a simplified, easier to use version of my popular Dermis Skin Shader, intended for use in Archiviz or for background characters, that need good looking SSS skin, but aren't important enough to the scene to spend the LookDev time on. It enables the user to create convincing, realistic skin in a minute or two, taking only a few PBR and artistic control inputs and producing multi-layer SSS with realistic skin tones, even for stylised or non-photoreal characters (you can even do this without any image textures).
Dermis Mini is designed to operate primarily from an albedo skin texture or input colour, with controls for skin tone, SSS weight, roughness, and bump/normal, as well as the option to automatically calculate a bump map based on pore detail present in the input skin texture. The shader is built for cycles, and works best with branched path tracing, but does of course work for Eevee too due to Cycles nodes being used, however my Dermis Skin Shader is better suited to Eevee use.
