Cyp Gn Dimensions And Notes

by Simone Cipriani in Modifier Setups

"Cyp GN Dimensions and Notes" is a Geometry Node Group made to insert CAD-type dimensions and notes into Blender.

Easy-to-use:

Add dimensions to a drawing with a single click. The measurements can be added as assets, and after positioning them in edit mode (by snapping them to two vertices) they are ready for rendering.

Measurements can be set in 3D.

By duplicating the object in Viewport, all the settings of the first dimension are kept the same. To set the next dimension, directly snap the duplicated object to two new vertices. To set different values for a new set of dimensions, simply set the modifier as "single-user".

Highly customizable:

Each parameter is customizable as a modifier:

arrows, thickness, global object scale, decimals etc.

You can hide all elements separately: the left and/or right arrow, the dimension, the dimension line, "prefix" text and "suffix" text, the snap lines etc.

Featuring:

Interchangeable imperial measurements: mm to inches or mt to ft (non-imperial decimals).

Customizable scale of the drawing (e.g. 2.5:1 or 1:100). Dimensions will adapt accordingly).

Text that can be positioned horizontally, or freely flipped, inverted or rotated.

Preset colors: red, black and "blue-cad".

In addition:

In the Youtube videos there are examples on how to use my GN group and examples on how to create technical drawings using my "CYP GN" nodes, which are downloadable for free in the description of the first video.
