Blender - Airport Board - Geonode Setup

by Louis_Draw_ in Modifier Setups

Airport Board is an Blender Geonode Setup that allows you to generate procedural Panels using Geometry Nodes.

It works on blender 3.5+. Blender 4.x isn't supported yet.

Follow the tutoriel right here : https://youtu.be/EDiQh-Dlj6s

How does it work ?

By using the geometry node modifier ! You just have to install a specific font, and you can add it to your scene !

Step 1

Install this font on your computer.

>>Download Directly<<

Step 2

Open the .blend file.

If its not, replace the basic font by the "aeroport" in the STING TO MESH CONVERTER node.

To do so, add a cube, add a geometry node modifier, and choose the previous one. Then, in the two green nodes, change the font.

Step 3

In the _Panel_ object, you can control the position of each column.

To modify the text and the transition, click on the corresponding column object, and then change everything you want !

Issues

  • Due of the booleen operation, it can be really heavy and laggy. To prevent that, you can check the Bool in Render Only option into the main _Panel_ object. It will make the viewport

  • Also cause by a booleen operation, the main panel support is laggy and works with specific value depending on each column size. I'll try to find another ways to make it work.

  • The column number cannot be higher than 10. It isnt incompatible tho, but it requieres an manual intervention into the geonode setup.

  • Same for the lines number, it cannot be higher than 50. But it can work be copy/paste specifics nodes.

Have fun !
