Important Practices

  • Embedd all controllers in a single armature using bones instead of empties

  • Start animations on frame 1

  • Optimize animations

  • Make a dedicated Root Bone when using Root Motion from mocap data, vertical pole aligned straight up. (Make Root Bone, Transfer operators available)

  • Make sure Root rotations are using Euler rotations.

  • Include Scale Keyframes to avoid zero scale errors.

  • Ensure Inherit Rotation is enabled on bone relations. Otherwise they won't be affected by Root Motion.
