Shape Key Selector V1.0 - Blender 3.0 Addon (Deprecated)
As of August 2024 Shape Key Selector will no longer be supported. Blender versions are updating so quickly and unfortunately I can't keep up with the updates. It will still work for any of the Blender 3.0 versions, but anything past that won't be supported, so installing it may or may not work correctly.
Shape Key Selector allows you to choose your model’s shape keys from an intuitive, customisable visual menu. It doesn’t require ANY rigging! You can sculpt/model your character’s expressions and then use the Selectors to choose an expression.
With one click, all of the images, selectors and drivers will be set up, allowing you to quickly and easily choose your character’s expressions and start animating! I designed this addon to make facial animation more accessible to people, as rigging a face is a very complex process.
Rigging a character’s body is pretty easy, but face rigging is a whole process of its own and it can go wrong at so many stages. However, making shape keys for your expressions allows you to create much finer details like wrinkles, creases, dimples etc. that would be a nightmare to do with a face rig because they would entirely rely on your weight painting skills.

You can bulk add all of the Shape Key Images with ONE CLICK!

You can Render all of your Shape Key images with ONE CLICK! Simply set up cameras in your scene for the different parts of the face, and the addon will Render all of them switching to the correct camera for each part of the face!
You can easily separate the Left and Right Shape Keys for your character, allowing for asymmetrical expressions like winking or raising eyebrows.
You can easily animate your character by Inserting keyframes for all of the shape keys at once, or just the shape keys for the Selected Category.
You can also change the snapping increments for the Selectors, allowing you to get exact in between expressions.
