  Although there's still some relevant information, this book is now outdated after the 2.8 overhaul. When I contacted the author to ask if/when he planned to cover changes between 2.7x and 2.8x, he said:
  "I don’t imagine much changed across a few minor versions."

  Blender users know this wasn't a minor update, but when I wrote back to gently point this out, I got no response. I'm still waiting to hear back from the publisher, but it's been months, so I don't hold much hope.

  If you are writing your own add-ons, this book is very useful.

  This is a wonderful book covering many useful topics. It is obvious that the author has a lot of experiences writing addons. The explanations are carefully developed and the book has a very good layout. I wish I could have had this book when I started to write addons.
